Ventolin

For adults and children over 4 years old, the usual dose is 1 to 2 puffs when needed to relieve symptoms. The maximum dose is 8 puffs in a 24-hour period. Each puff of Ventolin contains 100 micrograms of salbutamol (as sulfate). The inhaler also contains HFA 134a (1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane) as the propellant.

Common side effects of Ventolin may include shakiness, headache, increased heart rate, and throat irritation. Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention include chest pain, irregular heartbeats, and allergic reactions like rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, or throat.
