Finasteride (proscar)

Each tablet of Finasteride contains 5 mg of finasteride as the active ingredient. The excipients in the tablets include lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, sodium starch glycolate, docusate sodium, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, titanium dioxide, talc, yellow ferric oxide, and red ferric oxide.

Common side effects of Finasteride may include decreased libido, ejaculation disorder, and erectile dysfunction. Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention include allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling of the lips or face, and testicular pain. In rare cases, Finasteride may cause male breast cancer. If you experience any unusual symptoms, contact your doctor promptly.
Frequency unknown: Depression, suicidal thoughts and anxiety

You should not use Finasteride if you are allergic to finasteride or any of the ingredients in the product. Women and children should not handle Finasteride tablets due to the risk of absorption through the skin.
