This medicine may help to lower high blood pressure, also called hypertension. It belongs to a group of medicines known as angiotensin II receptor blockers. These work by helping your blood vessels relax, which may lower your blood pressure and reduce the strain on your heart. It may also be used to lower the risk of heart and blood vessel problems in people with certain risk factors, such as type 2 diabetes or a history of heart problems. It may support better blood flow and may help protect organs such as the kidneys in people with high blood pressure or diabetes. The effect can vary from person to person.
