Efracea is a medication containing the active ingredient doxycycline, a type of antibiotic. It is used to treat inflammatory lesions (papules and pustules) of rosacea in adult patients. About Efracea (Oracea)
Dosage and usage
You should take Efracea exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. The usual dosage is one capsule daily, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach. Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water. It's important not to crush or chew the capsule. You may start to see improvements in your skin after a few weeks of treatment. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one. What Efracea contains
Each Efracea capsule contains 40 mg of doxycycline and other inactive ingredients such as gelatin, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide (E171), and yellow iron oxide (E172).
Side effects
Common side effects of Efracea may include diarrhoea, nausea, and headache. In some cases, you may experience sun sensitivity or vaginal yeast infections.
