Person applying a square adhesive patch to their upper arm

Contraceptive patch

The contraceptive patch is a birth control method that works similarly to the combination pill. It contains two hormones, ethinyl estradiol and norelgestromin, which are gradually absorbed into the bloodstream from the patch.

How to use?

Use one patch per week for three weeks, changing it every seven days. This is followed by a patch-free week, during which you do not use a patch for seven days. After the patch-free week, apply a new patch and start the cycle again. The patch should be removed and applied on the same day of the week. It is waterproof, so activities like showering, swimming, or using the sauna will not affect its effectiveness.
